The competition, organised by George Barron - captain of the Welsh Fly Fishing team - drew to a close with a lively sporting-auction (led by S4C sport correspondent Alun Elidir) of 35 prizes generously donated by local companies and individuals including The Brennig Centre, Flymail, Vac Rac, Tight Lines, and paintings by renowned sporting artists Owen Williams (who recently exhibited at the CLA Game Fair - www.owenwilliams.org.uk) and Terry Lambert. Since the First International Exhibition of Art in 1895 over a thousand artists have represented Britain at the Venice Biennale. The Biennale is arguably the most important event in the contemporary arts calendar, and 2003 will be the first time Wales will be represented. On March 19th 2003, The Re:Creation Awards, brought to life by Dazed and Confused magazine in partnership with Topshop - celebrated the second year of encouraging Britains best creatives in the field of journalism, graphic design, music, fashion and photography to showcase their talents. The Awards are the culmination of the 'Re:Creation tour' - which stops in 6 British Cities to give seminars and showcase the best of British creative talent. Attended by the likes of Rankin and Stella McCartney, the awards were presented at the Victoria and Albert museum, with the evening party held at trendy ROUGE in London, with Ty Nant available all day to celebrities and award winners. |

2003 drew to a close with Ty Nant celebrating its Welsh roots - leading the Welsh Food and Drink sector into an exciting new year - with Nick Taylor, General Manager of Ty Nant chosen as Wales's Food and Drink Ambassador, at the annual Welsh Development Agency 'True Taste Awards'. Ty Nant also scooped a 'True Taste Manufacturer' Award during the evening.
The October 2003 edition of leading men's consumer design and
style magazine 'ARENA', saw Ty Nant's iconic PET bottle ranked
as the "8th coolest item in the world right now" -
confirming Ty Nant's status as the ultimate designer refreshment.
Ty Nant were delighted to support the 6th The Urban Music Seminar, held at the
Royal Festival Hall on September 20th. Formed in 1998 as a non-profit making organisation,
the Urban Music Seminar's goal is to inform and educate young people with
aspirations of working in the music industry.
London - the home of cutting edge fashion design once again created a
fashion frenzy as the worlds leading designers celebrated their new
collections on the London Fashion Week catwalks. As the soft drink of
choice of any style-conscious fashionista, Ty Nant was at hand to
support the shows of designers such as Julien McDonald, Hamish Morrow,
Justin Oh, Sass & Bide, RUDE and Betty Jackson. Ty Nant also supported
the Fashion East 'Eye To Eye' exhibition - opened by supermodel
Erin O' Connor styled as Audrey Hepburn (pictured), and the London
Fashion Week-End.
August saw Ty Nant partnering with the world's largest selling weekly
rock music magazine KERRANG!, as official water supplier to the
legendary KERRANG Rock Music Awards. Both the Awards - held at the
Royal Lancaster Hotel, and the aftershow
part held at ROUGE provided
the usual mix of madness and mayhem - with rock legends Metallica
given a lifetime achievement award for their contribution to rock music.

Ty Nant was at the heart of the party as over 21,000 dance music
enthusiasts attended 'Escape into the Park 2003' in one of Wales's
most famous parks - Singleton Park, Swansea on Saturday 2nd August.
The event, hosted and organised by Swansea super club Escape, saw
over 40 of dance music's top DJ's and artists including X-Press 2,
Erick Morillo, Dave Pearce, Anne Savage and Judge Jules playing from
4 dance arenas and one outdoor main stage.
Following this year's record turnout, the Ty Nant International
Classic has firmly established itself as one of the leading, most
enjoyable competitions within the UK fly-fishing calendar.
Attracting a record 92 anglers from all corners of the UK, Poland
and the Netherlands to the beautiful heart of rural Wales, the
International Team Match was this year secured once again by the
Scottish team, captained by Alan Hill. The emphasis of the
competition was firmly on fun and friendly competition at Brennig
- the premier fishing venue in Wales. Such is the success of the
event, that Ty Nant has confirmed a further three years sponsorship,
which is set to ensure the continued success of this event.
For the fifth consecutive year, Elton John opened his beautiful
Windsor estate for the most lavish party of the year - 'The White
Tie and Tiara Ball'. Stars from around the world joined Elton John
and his partner David Furnish on July 26th 2003 to raise money for
the AIDS foundation. Ty Nant supports the event annually by
supplying Natural Mineral Water in stylish 750ml Cobalt Blue, and
Red bottles. Among the guests this year enjoying Ty Nant were Liz
Hurley, Naomi Cambell, Kylie Minogue, Sir Michael Cane and
Elle McPherson.
Animal art and anonymity was the order of the night as graffiti
artist BANKSY showcased his latest collection of work at 479
Kingsland Road, London on July 17th 2003. Work ranged from BANKSY's
signature stencil graffiti to live pigs, cows and sheep donning
patterns ranging from signatures to chequered designs - oblivious
to explosion of creativity surrounding them as they slept quietly
in their pens.
As the anticipation and temperatures rose during the final two
Big Brother eviction shows, Ty Nant was invited to provide
refreshing natural mineral to the ecstatic crowds, presenters and
family members as they eagerly awaited the result of the final
evictions from the famed Big Brother house. With over two thousand
bottles Ty Nant water consumed during the final show, Ty Nant were
delighted to be at the heart of the excitement as 1,928,570 viewers
voted for Orkadian housmate Cameron to win the Big Brother title on
July 25th.
Ty Nant took it's sporting calendar yet again to new heights during
June 2003, as official bottled water supplier to the Stella Artois
Tennis Championships at the Queens Club, London - the ultimate grass
court championships prior to Wimbledon.
Considered one of the most exhilarating and enjoyable tennis
tournaments, The Stella Artois Championships this year celebrated
25 years of creating tennis history in style, with un-broken summer
sunshine ensuring record attendance on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
and Saturday. Over the last quarter of a century, The Championships
have hosted matches between some of the world's highest earning
tennis heroes, with 20 of the last 22 Wimbledon champions -
including past and present tennis aces such as John McEnroe, Boris
Becker, Pete Sampras and Lleyton Hewitt, battling for the
prestigious title. This year was no exception - US youngster
Andy Roddick fought off one of the strongest ever player fields -
including Andre Agassi, Greg Rusedski and Tim Henman - to capture
the Stella Artois Championships title in two thunderous sets
against Frenchman Sebastian Grosjean.
Ty Nant's new exhibition stand and award winning product range were
showcased at the above exhibitions - much to the delight of
prospective and current Ty Nant customers. With attendance figures
for the IFE standing at 24,000, and 58,000 for the FMI and Fancy
Food Show, Ty Nant was ideally placed to meet potential new
customers, and catch up with the latest trends within the dynamic
bottled water and soft drinks industry. Look out for Ty Nant once
again at the FMI show - Chicago 2004, and IFE - London, 2004.
Ty Nant was at the heart of the flamboyant celebrations as VOYAGE
COUTURE was launched amidst a frenzy of celebrities and media on
March 19th 2003. With it's 1960's cinema style façade, VOYAGE houses
the most exclusive collection of men's and womenswear produced by the
label, worn far and wide by the
most sought after stars including
David Beckham, Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna. Post event press
coverage in ES magazine included shots of stars such as celebrity
milliner Cosmo Jenks leaving the party clutching their bottles of

TAU with it's chic minimalist black and white labels has been
specifically designed fro outlets where colour may not be
appropriate, but quality and style are essential. TAU takes its
name from an ancient welsh word meaning 'to be silent', which was
felt to encapsulate TAU's understated clean lines, and the fresh
tasting spring water drawn from its unique source on the edge of
the Cambrian Mountains. With a reputation for being passionate about
outstanding design, TAU has already picked up a major award for the
team at Ty Nant - winning both a Gold Award and a Diploma from the
British Bottlers Institute Awards, May 2003.
Ty Nant brought designer style to the recently launched
'To Be Confirmed' Fashion Trade Shows, held this year in London,
New York and Tokyo. The first trade show of it's kind to be
represented in three continents, To Be Confirmed brings together
niche fashion brands (UK labels Rude, Etienne Ozeki, Parka Rock,
Red Dot, New York label Noah, and Japanese labels Wild Swans and
Yellow Division), music (Nuphonic Records, JZ Bratt and Vice DJ)
and art (underground artists ECO and CHUM), to create a fashion
experience unlike any other, yet "unique in it's
simplicity".
Ty Nant once again supported the world's top fashion designers at
London Fashion Week's Spring Season shows - February 15th 2003, by
supplying refreshing Natural Mineral Water in award winning 500ml PET
bottles and 330ml cobalt blue glass bottles to designers, models and
celebrity front row guests alike. Amongst the numerous designers
supported were Ronit Zilkha, Boudicca, Antoni & Alison, Ben De
Lisi, Katherine Hamnett, John Rocha and Betty Jackson, along with
