2002 Award Success

Adriana Sklenarikova Dedication in the field of innovative product development and PR activity ensured that Ty Nant triumphed in three prestigious internationally recognised awards in 2002. The design-leading curves of the recently launched ' PET bottle - designed by Ross Lovegrove - inspired judges at the Bottledwaterworld awards in Italy - March 2002 - to create a separate award to reflect the groundbreaking achievements of Ty Nant - the 'Premier Award'.

Adriana Sklenarikova Secondly, success came in the form of winning the 'Golden' Grocery Advertising and Marketing Industry Award - for the best PR campaign in 2002. To launch the new PET bottle, Ty Nant combined the subtle curves of the PET bottle with those of supermodel Adriana Sklenarikova to inspire a set of stunning photographs - shot by internationally renowned photographer - RANKIN - emphasising purity, fluidity and aesthetic form.

Lastly, and to round off what was an immensely exciting year, Ty Nant was awarded the prestigious 'Oscar's De L 'Emballage' award held in Paris on November 21st 2002. Out of 107 entries, 3 companies were short listed for their commitment to innovative packaging design and manufacture, with Ty Nant winning the overall 'Oscar De L'Emballage' for it's recently launched 'Pure by Design' PET bottle. Following Ty Nant's success, reference to the award winning PET bottle was made in several leading French consumer and trade magazines, including 'Bon Voyage', 'France Graphique', 'Joyce', 'L'uisine Nouvelle', and 'Emballages Magazine'.


'Going Once, Going Twice, Gone' Design Auction, November 2002

prototype Ty Nant PET bottle by Ross Lovegrove 'Going Twice' -the second auction in this trilogy of auctions aptly named - 'Going Once, Going Twice, Gone' - gave designers and manufacturers from around the world the chance to donate unique or customised pieces of work for auction - with proceeds going to three UK charities - BREAK, Children's Hospice South West and The Durham Centre.

Ty Nant contributed to the success of the evening, not only by providing water in fashionable PET bottles to the 250 bidders, but also in the form of Ross Lovegrove's donation of a prototype Ty Nant PET bottle - designed for Ty Nant in 2000.

Along side Ty Nant's groundbreaking curvaceous PET bottle were products such as James Dyson's Dyson DC07, Michael Sodeau's Rocking Bowl - designed for Wedgewood, Muji's Limited Edition CD Player and Philippe Starck's Cam El Eon chair.


AZTECS Opening Reception and Fundraising Gala and Dinner

AZTECS Art and Culture featured heavily in Ty Nant's sponsorship calendar during 2002, a highlight being the AZTECS Exhibition Opening and Fundraising Gala Dinner held on November 11th 2002. This rare and stunning collection of Mexican Art and Culture, will be showcased at the Royal Academy of Arts in London until 11th April 2003

Ty Nant Natural Mineral Water was served in Blue and Red 750ml Glass Bottles to over 1000 guests, including President Fox of Mexico, and members of our own Royal Family.

Malcolm Colin-Stoakes of the Royal Academy commented;
'The Royal Academy has been delighted with the success of the events. The fundraising Gala - a wonderful glamorous evening - raised over £60,000 towards the costs of the exhibition, and the Opening Reception was a great evening to launch this spectacular show - we were very grateful for Ty Nant's donation'.


'Die Another Day' placement

Halle Berry Ty Nant saw out 2002 with a touch of 007 'style' having been chosen to feature alongside the world's great MI6 Secret Agent himself in the 40th James Bond film 'Die Another Day'. Ty Nant's award winning curvy PET bottle was chosen by the film as its appearance blended perfectly with the film's 'icy' theming. Special limited edition caps were commissioned especially for the film - making the bottle look as if it was made entirely out of ice.

'Die Another Day's icy villain, Gustav Graves will have his own personal supply of Ty Nant behind the bar at his home in the film - the spectacular 'Ice Palace'.

Ice Palace The film - starring Pierce Brosnan as James Bond and Halle Berry as Jinx - was premiered at the Royal Albert Hall on November 18th 2002, with Ty Nant available to all the stars as the water refreshment for the night.

In conjunction with the placement, Ty Nant also offered it's consumers a chance to win a holiday for 2 to Iceland - as part of an on-pack promotion featured on 'neck tags' placed on Ty Nant's stylish 500ml, 1litre and 1.5 litre PET bottles.


Louis Vuitton Cup Sponsorship 2002-2003

Louis Vuitton Cup Louis Vuitton Cup 2002 saw Ty Nant taking it's internationally focused sponsorship calendar to new levels, by becoming the Official Bottled Water of the world-famous Louis Vuitton Sailing Cup 2002-2003. Running from October 2002 until January 2003, the Cup was centred in New Zealand, with Auckland becoming the focus for the event deemed to be one of the most prestigious challenges of the sporting calendar

The nine challengers competing for the right to challenge the defender 'Team New Zealand' in the America's Cup match in February 2003 enjoyed Ty Nant throughout the entire event - in both glass and plastic bottles at the press conferences, aboard the competitive boats, and at the exclusive evening events.

'The whole team think it's great to have a UK Brand such as Ty Nant supporting the Cup. They're delighted to be drinking water from home when so far away - it's like a home from home'.


Summer Festival Success - Southport Weekender 2002

Clubbers at Southport Clubbers at Southport Having provided water in PET to the hugely successful Southport Weekender 30th Birthday 2002, Ty Nant once again quenched the thirst of dedicated dance music fans by providing Ty Nant at the Autumn Southport Weekender - November 1,2,3. DJ's included Southport debutant Sandy Rivera, and regulars such as Norman J, Ronnie Herel and Bob Jones. The Southport Weekender was the culmination of a fantastic summer/ autumn festival season for Ty Nant - the water of choice at leading festivals such as T in the Park, Guildford Live Music Festival, Godskitchen, V 2002 Festivals, OASIS, Creamfields, and Tribal Gathering.

Ferrari wins the Ty Nant sponsored Harness Race - August 25th 2002

Harness Racing Tregaron The Welsh Equestrian Sporting Calendar was firmly focused on Tregaron on August 23rd 2002, with teams from around the country competing in the annual prestigious Harness Racing Festival. Ty Nant contributed to the huge success of the event by sponsoring one of the festival's many races. FORMULA 1

Ty Nant at the Grand Prix Monaco Ty Nant is supplying water for the Honda racing development team at the 11 European Formula 1 Grand Prix 2002 in San Marino, Barcelona, Austria, Monaco, Hungary, Monza, European, British, French and German Grand Prix. Water plays a crucial role at such events, especially as the majority of the Races take place in hot climates. Red glass bottles (Honda colours) are provided for the Drivers and guests in the VIP area while the garages are being supplied with 500ml PET bottles.


TY NANT IS OFFICIAL WATER AT DANCE STAR 2002 AWARDS

Clubbers at Southport

Ty Nant is the official water sponsor at this year's glittering DanceStar 2002 - The World Dance Music Awards taking place on July 3rd, Alexandra Palace, London. SM:TV's gorgeous presenter Tess Daly will be joined by glamorous DJ Boy George to host the spectacular event. The ceremony will be broadcast on terrestrial and satellite TV stations including MTV Europe across the world.

FATBOY SLIM leads the way with four nominations including Best Dance Video and Best Club DJ. He is followed by three nominations for BASEMENT JAXX who are up for Album Of The Year. Sexy Aussie Star KYLIE notched up two nominations including Best Chart Act and garage queens MIS-TEEQ have done the same.

To reflect what has been an exciting year in dance music there are 18 categories including Best House Act, Best Trance Act, Best Video, Album of the Year, Record Of The Year and the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. 17 of these categories will be voted for, as always, by the general public via various media partners and on the official website.

The 2002 awards look set to repeat the enormous success of the 2001 event. Performers for the ceremony include Ian Van Dahl, Kosheen, Shy FX and Lasgo.

TY NANT AT SPIDERMAN PREMIERE

Spiderman Menu Ty Nant was the exclusive bottled water at the Spiderman premiere on Wednesday, 5 June 2002. The after-show party, which was held at the In & Out Club, Piccadilly, was themed for the film with two rooms - 'Spiderman's Den' and 'The Green Goblins Den' (red and green respectively!). There were two bars in each room serving Ty Nant, which was also on prominent display. Celebrities that attended included: stars of the film Toby Macguire and Kirsten Dunst, Leonardo De Caprio, Richard Branson, model Nell McAndrew, Vernon Kay, Atomic Kitten, stars of last years Big Brother, Gareth from Pop Idol, and model Jemma Kidd.

FACE OF THE FUTURE

Face of the Future model competition Face of the Future model competition The high profile finale of the 3rd annual Face of the Future model competition held by Topshop/Topman in association with Models 1 took place on Wednesday 22nd May 2002 at the Oxford circus flagship store. The Event included a Champagne reception, a fashion show and after show party. Ty Nant put in an appearance for the evening as well as being the backstage drink for the models. The 500ml PET went down particularly well during the champagne reception where it was served along side mini Moet. Thalia Kenton, Special Events Manager for Arcadia commented; 'What a perfect addition to our drinks menu for face of the future. The fantastic design of the bottle made it the only spring water choice for us and we are very grateful that Ty Nant were so generous, It really was a perfect fit!
