TY NANT IN PET - PURE BY DESIGN

TY NANT, the premium natural mineral water company famed for its cobalt-blue glass bottle, has created a cutting edge asymmetrical PET bottle specifically designed to evoke the fluidity of water.

Created by internationally renowned Welsh born designer Ross Lovegrove, this radical, visionary bottle is set to appeal to the style set with its unique ripple effect packaging which refracts light and colour in the same manner as surface reflections.

New Ty Nant PET Bottle

"We have received a fantastic reaction from everyone who has seen the bottle and they are really excited about our inspired design-led approach to packaging," said David Relph, TY NANT's General Manager Sales & Marketing.

For TY NANT the move into the PET market is a major departure from the premium packaged glass sector. The new PET bottle will take TY NANT into new trade sectors, and is targeted nation-wide to include stylish on-premise outlets, the impulse sector, sandwich bars and leading grocery outlets.

"Having broken all the rules in 1989 when we took the market by storm with the cobalt-blue glass bottle, we knew that this would be a tough act to follow. We felt that in order to really make waves in the growing PET sector, we had to be uncompromising in our approach, and continue to stand out from the crowd by applying good design principles to achieve product differentiation.

PET Bottled Water

To facilitate this we have invested significantly in new production facilities at our headquarters in Wales. This includes the installation of a whole new production line and increased storage facilities."

An aggressive programme of trade support will include promotional offers and tailored account activity. The new bottle launch will also be supported with significant TV/film and event product placements including high impact consumer activity.

With the bottled water market set to continue its outstanding growth, TY NANT is exceptionally well placed to grow its market share dramatically over the coming years.

Ross Lovegrove

After consultancy contracts in Germany, (Frogdesign) and France (Knoll), where he worked with Phillippe Starck and Jean Nouvel for the Atelier de Nimes group, Lovegrove returned to London in the 1980's and set up independently.

Ross Lovegrove's Designs
